Project 365| March 1-26

Oops, March has been busy...so here is almost a whole month of photos I am behind!

DAY 61| MARCH 1ST
Barrett picked this from the yard for me =)

DAY 62| MARCH 2ND
We had been sick for several days, and were tired of being cooped up inside.
It was a nice day, so we went out on the front steps to chalk in our jammies (in the middle of the afternoon)

DAY 63| MARCH 3RD

hot pumpkin spice tea...feels good on a sore throat

DAY 64| MARCH 4TH
growing out my hair. Hasn't been this long since...hmm, maybe when we were married??

DAY 65| MARCH 5TH

View out one of our bedroom windows. It was a rainy day, but I am in love with the neighbors tall grasses. They are so vibrant yellow, especially beautiful during the "golden hour".
Hope to use them for a session or two in the future!

DAY 66| MARCH 6TH
Woke up early for school, and couldn't wait to show Barrett the blanket of fog over the golf course.
Amazing beauty!!!

DAY 67| MARCH 7TH
Long lashes

DAY 68| MARCH 8TH

Watching Barrett perfect his golf swing, while I worked in at the kitchen table.

 DAY 69| MARCH 9TH
Went to support my friend, Audra, as she chopped off A LOT of hair!!
This was her "after" shot. She cut off around 10 inches to donate. So proud of her! She is beautiful!!

DAY 70| MARCH 10TH
I was folding clothes on the bed, B was watching out the bedroom window for Daddy to get home.

DAY 71|MARCH 11TH
My hubby, Grill Master. Enjoying a White Russian on the back patio.

DAY 72|MARCH 12TH

We are having our house painted in April. This is my *TRYING* to pick out colors!
I love choosing paint colors inside. BUT this exterior choice is a BIG deal!! It's not just one gallon of paint if you change your mind! Eek!! Thinking about "Foothills" (a gray/taupe) for the house, with black shutters and maybe a deep gold/mustard front door? Trim will be white, as we just had it painted in December. Thoughts?!?!?

DAY 73| MARCH 13TH

We finally got a new dining set! After driving all over Wichita, visiting 10+ furniture stores, we decided on this one. We wanted something rustic, turned legs, seats up to 8, with a leaf. We love it!! So nice to have a place for everyone to sit when we have company!

DAY 74| MARCH 14TH
New prop! Colorful rug I found at World Market...made out of scarves!
Will be a fun pop of color under newborns and babies!

DAY 75| MARCH 15TH
Playing on the iPad with Papa

 DAY 76| MARCH 16TH

Uncle Bobby and Aunt Jenn were in town for the Cabela's opening on the 14th. We went to that, and then they came to Winfield for a few days. We spent the day Friday visiting Brandon's friends around the area at their jobs/cool places. His friend Jeremiah & his family own Quail Valley Farms. We went to see their progress on the property. Barrett got to feed the baby lamb its bottle, and we got to pet the donkeys. After that, we went to visit Joel at Camp Horizon. It was a fun day.

DAY 77| MARCH 17TH
First ride on Daddy's new mower!! They were both grinning from ear-to-ear!

DAY 78| MARCH 18TH
 "SWEAT"
In the garage finishing up the kitchen table paint job...
thought the sweat on my ice water cup was a neat texture :)

DAY 79| MARCH 19TH
All the bfe kids (seven total) together to celebrate Miss Caroline's birthday!!!
Hadley, Lydia, Jillian, Caroline, Callum, Barrett, Norah Kate
Amber's 3rd due in July will make EIGHT!

DAY 80| MARCH 20TH
More Spring beauty popping up all around our yard!

DAY 81| MARCH 21ST
My new favorite drink! Recipe can be found HERE on Pinterest!
Made these for my Scentsy party Wednesday night!

DAY 82| MARCH 22ND
Another view out our bedroom window.
I love to watch, as the seasons change. AND the screen gives awesome texture :)

DAY 83| MARCH 23RD
This was day ONE of our annual girls trip!
We ventured to Oklahoma City for a long weekend.
Shopping, eating, pedicures & manicures, visiting and giggling in our hotel suite, more shopping and eating!!
My FIRST trip to Cherry Berry!!

DAY 84| MARCH 24TH

I didn't actually take any pics on Saturday (we were too busy shopping), so these are from Dinner out Friday night!
Love my girls!!! Amber, Audra, Megan & me

DAY 85| MARCH 25TH
The time away was so nice, and much needed!!
The girls all agree that it makes us better mothers and wives to get away at least once a year! Ya know, keep our sanity!! I like to escape from my business, relax and spend quality time with my friends. My hubby knows it's important to me, and I love him for that! It good for me to miss my boys, and to feel missed. They were so happy to have me home, and that felt good. It's also good for them to have father-son time together. We all appreciate each other even more after these trips away :)

DAY 86| MARCH 26TH
This was actually taken after a good rain last week, but I edited it today!
We got a LOT of rain last week, and now everything is really greening up!

DIY-Powder Room makeover

Next up...the powder room!!!

The blue wallpaper, pedestal sink and bright gold accents were great, but....
We changed it up a little :)

Removing the wallpaper did bad things to the walls in this room. So we had to patch, sand and texture before painting. We replaced the pedestal sink with something the fit the space better, and gave us storage. Oil-rubbed bronze faucet, and a new mirror. We painted the outlet covers and floor vent with oil-rubbed bronze spray paint, and replaced the towel holder, toilet paper holder and wall sconces with oil-rubbed bronze ones. (The old gold towel holder-we sprayed with the oil-rubbed bronze paint and used in our master bathroom)

Uck...these pictures bring back bad memories!!!

Barrett even liked to scrape the wallpaper off :)

After all the paper was off, we sanded, patched, sanded again...
then taped the floor off and sprayed on the texture.

After the spray texture --->

GOODBYE wallpaper!

Goodbye wallpaper was said A LOT during the month of December! As soon as we moved in, we starting ripping it off...and ripping it off...and ripping it off! It was wall-to-wall in the kitchen, powder room and master bath. We got a little break in the master bath and Barrett's room where it was only border. BUT there was even border in our master closet! Who does that?!?! AND we still have Barrett's bathroom and the spare room to tackle. We kinda ran out of steam in the wallpaper removal department :)

So, we've been here 3 months now (as of March 19th), and we are so close to done with all our remodel projects! Just a few more things to tackle!! I've been working on some Before & Afters. I am excited to get them all done and make a little "Before & After" photo book!

So, here's the next installment of the new house transformation
{the breakfast nook}

Wallpaper and border gone! Sherwin Williams Baguette on the walls!

I've ordered prints for the frames, but they aren't in yet! AND the green blinds still need to be hidden. They are really nice Hunter Douglass blinds, but they are hunter green. SO, I'm planning to just add some faux roman shades or a cornice to hide them behind. Oh, how I love the natural light in this room!

Lovely floral balloon valance---GONE!

I also painted our old kitchen table black. My Mamo gave us this when we first got married, and we used it in the dining area at our old house. It used to look so big and cramped there! It was all white and the chairs were chipping. I love it black, but it was a LOT of work! Especially the chairs with all those spindles! Here are the pics of that....

{kitchen table & chairs}

table runner is from Target if anyone is interested :)

 more coming soon....
next, the powder room!

mini vacation

In late February, we took a mini vacation!
A little getaway...a staycation. We all needed to get away.
We'd been talking about it for a few weeks, but hadn't planned anything. So it was all a little last minute.

Justin came home for lunch on a Thursday, and told me he had Friday off work, since he'd logged so much overtime during his on-call week. I said let's go on our trip! He went back to work, and I got busy booking the hotel and packing our bags. I didn't tell Barrett anything about it. So when Justin got home from work, we told him we had a surprise for him...he was so excited!! Like his mom, he loves to stay in hotels :)

We checked into our hotel around 7pm.

Then we headed to On the Border for dinner...

After dinner we took Barrett to the Alley for arcade games.
He was in Heaven!!

We stayed out late, and then slept-in the next morning!
Perfect vacation hours :)

Our little man crashed in the big bed...he's always the last one up in our house!

After he got up and dressed, he told us he had some "work to do at the desk."

Then we headed for some shopping, and lunch at a family favorite, Il Vicino.
They give kids a ball of dough to play with while you wait for your food. Barrett made a snowman with his.

After lunch we went across town to a new place one of my Wichita friends told me about.
(Barrett fell asleep on the way)

He picked out a race car bank. You pick out the piece you want to paint and the colors.
They supply the paint brushes, paint, and do the cleanup and firing of your project!

They called us the other day to let us know that Barrett's car was ready!!

After painting, we had to stop in to Cold Stone Creamery!

Our bellies were full, and we headed back home!
It was a great family getaway!!

NOW, this mama is counting down the days to my girls weekend getaway!!!
So ready!!
