The Annual Pumpkin Carving Party

The Friday before Halloween, we had our annual pumpkin carving party at Brent and Megans.

Only this year....
We never really got around to the actual pumpkin carving! Oops!
Guess that's what happens when you add two new babies to the mix since last year's party.

I must say I was very bummed.
If we wouldn't have had to leave at the crack of dawn the next day for Manhattan, we would have stayed to carve!

So....we had pizza, let the kids run and play, sat by the fire, made smores, and enjoyed being together.

{some snapshots from the night}

Of course we had to end the night with a bfe baby shot!
I can't believe there are SEVEN of them now!

We all had to snuggle baby Cal too! Justin got to hold him for the first time :)

Thanks for hosting the annual gig, Brent and Megan!
Can't wait for next year! You'll have a one-year-old!

Little Spooks

Better late than never....
The community Spooks Parade was almost two weeks ago.

I finished editing ALL 29 mini sessions over the weekend, so now I'm trying to catch-up on our pictures.
Here are a few from the parade. It was the Tuesday before Halloween.
Also our 8th Anniversary! Who wouldn't want to spend their anniversary doing this?!?!

This little guy is in Barrett's playgroup, and also his art class. He is the most adorable thing!!
I of course LOVED his costume! The UPS man comes to my house every. single. day =)

This one scared the heck outta Barrett!
It scared the heck outta me too!

He was his usual shy & clingy self for most of the evening. I walked with him in the parade, while Justin took pictures.
Barrett wanted me to carry him, of course. But I made him walk.
I was excited to see Justin got this picture of him looking like he's having fun!!

After the parade (i.e. two block herding of children), they announce the costume winners, and hand out goodie bags.
Kylie (Barrett's cousin), got 1st place in her age group!! She's the hobo on the left!
She and her mama did a great job with her costume!!

After the Spooks Parade, Barrett went home Gigi and Papa, so that Justin and I could go out for our anniversary!
It was a fun night! I think our little football player had fun!

Down...Set...Happy Halloween!!

We got home from Manhattan just in time for some snuggling on the couch, and a nap with Barrett!
Well, Barrett and I napped, and Justin watched the Packers game.

We had a great time at the K-State game and hanging out with our friends,
but we were ready to get home to our boy! We rested, and then it was time for trick-or-treating!!

I of course planned a mini session of Barrett in his halloween costume...
on the football field just down the street from our house.

I have MANY favorites! We were only there for about 10 minutes, but he was being sooo cooperative for me!
Then he played on the field with Daddy for a bit.
I loved it!!

After our costume shoot, we headed to the houses of friends and family.
We also decided to try the most popular street in Winfield for trick-or-treating for the first time!

It was such a beautiful Fall evening, and the homes and festive feel of 9th street was perfect.  This was the first year Barrett really understood what was going on, and he loved walking up and down the street with his treat bucket. BUT, although he's been saying "trick-or-treat, Happy Halloween, thank you" for three weeks, he was mute the whole night! Stinker!

Happy Halloween!!
