wordless wednesday

it's actually 22 minutes into Thursday...
but I don't care.

I took these pictures of Barrett after his bath the other night.

It's one of my most favorite times.

I want to blog them.

Then I want to go to bed. The end.

So, I guess this isn't really "wordless."

Not wordless...
And it's not Wednesday.

Disregard the post title.
The end.

A little break } shooting for me

I'm barely keeping my head above the water.
I LOVE my job, but I'm counting down the days to my last session of November.
Then I'll get caught up on editing, and enjoy a little breather.

I'm shooting a ton of beautiful families, children and seniors.
Editing hundreds upon hundreds of images.
Trying to keep up with sessions, holiday card designs, print orders,
Facebook {peeks} for patiently waiting clients and blogging.

I had a day "off" on Saturday!
No sessions scheduled. I thought maybe we could go hang out in Wichita.
Do a little Christmas shopping and go out to dinner.
Then Justin was invited on a hunting trip for the day.

So, I called up my nieces, and invited them out for a FALL photo shoot with Barrett and I!
Yep, even on my "day off"... I wanted to shoot!

This time though....I was shooting for me. Just for fun. Just because.
I even did a little landscape shooting, which I don't get to do nearly enough.

I did some quick edits on these, since I have other stuff I'm working on.
Here are some of my favorites...

I got a little teary-eyed while editing these. Thinking about how much Barrett loves his cousins. We're so lucky to have them just a few blocks away. They get to see each other a lot, and they are all so sweet to each other. Kylie and Emily are great girls, and they are such wonderful examples for my little man. He's years younger than them, but I can just imagine when they're all young adults, that he will be very protective of his girl cousins =)

My older brother just moved back to Kansas! So I look forward to Barrett spending more time with his cousins, Emma, Lauren and Jones too! They moved right after he was born, and we've only seen them a handful of times since then. It is so nice to have them back in the same state, so we can see them much more often!

You can see all of the images HERE

Happy FALL!
Enjoy the last few days of color, before the cold of winter sets in.

My absolute {favorite} to date!!

So, now that I have my photography blog, I don't share many client images on here...
BUT I had to share this one! It is one of my {FAVORITE} images to date!!
It's from a session I had last week with two year old, Lauren!

I met Lauren and her mama through Barrett's playgroup. Lauren is simply adorable, and so mature and well-behaved for her age. I had a blast chasing her around at this session. Her mama, Monica, had planned some super cute outfits, and we had major fun with BUBBLES at the end of her session! I loved the idea, and the bubble machine worked perfectly for it. I'm very much considering adding bubbles to our family session in October!

I think I love this image so much because it is so full of expression! When you're photographing children, you have to become quick friends with them. It's the only way to get them on your side. Doing all sorts of goofy things, and making wacky noises helps too! I didn't have to work too hard with Lauren. She knew me as "Barrett's mommy" and was cooperative from the beginning.  But I still like to make kids feel like we're just out playing, and not worrying so much about the whole picture taking thing. During this shot, we were playing peek-a-boo with each other. You can tell her little lips are saying "boo."

Oh Boy!!

"Oh, boy!" That's what kept coming out of Barrett's mouth (over and over) while we dyed Easter eggs. I had to look back in my posts to see if we dyed eggs last year. I didn't find anything, so I guess this was Barrett's first time dying Easter eggs! He loved it! We were cracking up at all the expressions he was making. I'd seen the whisk trick in one of my Family Fun magazines! It was such a great idea, and made it so easy for Barrett to dip the eggs in and out. When my friend, Megan, emailed me her Easter pictures, I told her she must have read the same magazine! I think I need to pick up a few more whisks at garage sales this summer to pack up with the Easter stuff!

So, I had my FULL day of Spring Mini Sessions today! The weather was just beautiful.  The Barns was the perfect location, and the sessions were so much fun. All of my clients were gorgeous and had such great style! I was in love with all the little girls and their hats, headbands and dresses! I even had 10-month-old twins!! So fun! A BIG 'OL thank you to my friend, Alicia...she let me borrow one of her awesome chairs to use! Everyone loved it, and it was just the right size and subtle color. I can't wait to do this again in the Fall!

Here is one of my faves from the day, so far! I haven't made it through many yet!
You can see a little of the chair in this shot! But it's super cute from the front!
I will be posting {sneaks} on the photo blog all week!!

I am exhausted, and I have lots of proofing to do, so the rest of this post will just be pictures...
no explanations necessary, I hope!

Here are our pictures from Easter 2010, celebrated in Nebraska with my little brother!

Also realized, after looking back at last year's Easter post...
This was Barrett's first outdoor egg hunt!

Family shot, take one...

Take two...

(I guess I lied about the "picture only...no explanation necessary")

Here is our picture from Easter 2009! Barrett looks so little!!

My family is CrAzY!!!
