This week :: Your favorite place to go to dinner

My current favorite place to go out to dinner is a little Mexican restaurant here in town, El Maguey's. You'll hear it pronounced all sorts of ways. I usually just call it EM's. It's been open for several years now, but we really started liking...ehem, became addicted to it, right before Barrett was born. It's a great place for dinner with the family, or to meet up with friends for a margarita! Lately, we've enjoyed picking up dinner and bringing it home.

So, you want the {REAL} story about this picture? On Thursday morning, I gave myself a "mental note" to swing by and get a picture of EM's for my blog post, so I could get it up Friday morning, and everyone could join in the fun. Didn't happen. So, this morning at 8:20 am, I told Barrett we were going for a little ride. We did a quick drive-by, Mommy got the shot, and we headed back home. That's why the parking lot is empty...no one eats Mexican during the 8am hour! AND that's why the sun is glaring into my lens. HA! Good thing we only live a few blocks from the joint!

Making a comeback...

This week :: Your favorite item(s) in the kitchen

My hubby got me a RED Kitchen Aid mixer for Christmas a couple years ago and I LOVE having it out on my counter. I'll be {REAL} and tell you that I don't use it nearly often enough! Maybe this summer I'll find some fun new recipes. For now, I guess it's just "eye candy" in my kitchen!


I think this corner by the sink and window is the perfect spot for it. I'll be {REAL} again, and tell you that it gets splattered with water quite often sitting in this spot by the sink...so I did wipe it down a bit before these pictures were taken! Don't mind the ucky countertops. If you read my last post, you know I don't even want to talk about that!!

This glass straw holder is my new favorite...and I use it EVERYDAY when I make my glass after glass of ice water with lemon! Sooo good! I also love my little metal Pampered Chef spatula. You can see it peeking out of the can beside the mixer in the above pictures. I use that little jem for everything!!

This week:: What's on YOUR bed

Duvet? Comforter? Quilt?

I got this bedding for our master bedroom a few years ago. I think it's from Wal-Mart. I loved the dark, rich colors at the time...deep golds and brick reds. But now I think I'm ready for something brighter and more modern looking. Our bedroom needs a make-over, and I would love to find new bedding to build everything else around. I can't wait to see what's on YOUR bed. It might give me some ideas!

I know...it has been a couple weeks since my last {get REAL} post!! My time in blog world has been few and far between these days. Other things seem to be consuming my TIME!

This week:: What has been consuming YOUR TIME this week!

What have you been up to?

I feel totally out of the loop...after our trip to South Carolina, and then my trip to Texas last weekend. I have been trying to catch up on housework and Elephant Juice Designs orders, and I feel like I'm running in circles! I'm glad to be home and ready to get back to a normal schedule!

This is what's been consuming MY time this week....


Lots and lots of client orders!! Save-the-dates, Wedding Invitations, Shower Invitations and more. It's been a bit crazy this week, but I'm NOT complaining!! Being this busy and getting a new client almost every-other-day means success for my business and money in the bank!

Me and my printer are best friends.
My ribbon box is getting a work-out.
The piles of paper are ready to be used.
Boxes are being filled right and left.
The lady at the post office knows me by name.
That could be because I'm there every-other-day...or because I always have a 14-month old on my left hip, a box on my right hip and my purse over my shoulder. It's quite the site...and takes talent!
I should buy stock in Zip Dry.
My hubby sits on the couch alone at night.
I spend my evenings in the office printing
OR on the living room floor assembling.
Photoshop & Illustrator are up on my laptop 90% of the time.

BUT, no matter how busy I get with client orders...
this little guy always gets the best of me!

This week:: What Spring style are you lusting over?
I don't know about everyone else, but I'm ready for the cool spring weather,
NOT cold and snow, like we had this afternoon!!
So, what Spring clothing or shoes are you ready to wear.

I'm ready to trade-in the heavy winter coats, and get a fun Spring TRENCH COAT. I really love this apple green trench from Target. Oh, I could find a fun new Spring purse to go with this one :)

I haven't had too much to blog about lately, and after designing a button for Brittany's weekly challenge...I thought it would be fun to come up with my own little challenge.

SO FOR THIS WEEK.....Where do you blog?

90% of the time, I'm at my dining room table. The other 10%, I'm on the couch...that's usually in the evenings when Justin and I are watching TV.

I sit against the wall, so I can see the TV and look out the window. AND if Barrett is awake while I'm blogging, I can easily see him playing on the floor. I usually blog while he's napping, but often work on EJ Design orders at the table and like being able to watch him play on the family room floor.
