Family Vacation: July 2009

Just got home from vacation a few days ago...thought I'd share a few pictures. I really didn't do great at taking very many. Hopefully my sis-in-law got a few more.

We went to Branson with Justin's family, and stayed in a little cabin by Table Rock Lake. It was a great get-away! We spent TWO whole days at Silver Dollar City. I hadn't been there since I was a kid, so it was fun to see how it had changed, and several things I remembered that were still just the same. We rode roller-coaster after roller-coaster...and I loved it! My niece, Kylie, was having a blast riding all the coasters with the 'big kids'. Uncle Jeff's favorite ride was The Big Barn Swing. It scared the britches right off me the first time I rode it, but I still went back three more times! My favorite coaster was The Powder Keg! Grandpa Rusty and Uncle Todd were sweet enough to stay at the cabin with Barrett on Saturday, while the rest of us went back to Silver Dollar City. We were able to see a saloon show and a magic show that day.

(edited 15 minutes after first publishing...because I just remembered I still had pictures on my other camera. Guess I got a few more than I thought!)
Riding in the car with Kylie on the way to Branson.
He loved having her in the back seat to entertain him.

Barrett's first ride: Flooded Mine
He sat still as could be on my lap the whole time. We were afraid he'd have nightmares with all the flashing lights, loud noises and scary mannequins!

Barrett also got to ride on the train...where he fell asleep!

Sandy and Kim getting a foot massage

We spent another day out on the lake tubing. I hadn't done that since Bapo pulled us around at Grand Lake, so my body was hurtin' the next day! Barrett loved the boat so much, it rocked him right to sleep.

Kylie's first time on the tube

My favorite part about boating on the lake...

Grandma Sandy getting ready to tube...What a cool Grandma!

Miss Emily

Justin and I out on the tube

This is what Barrett did while Mommy & Daddy were in the lake.
Poor little mister!

Barrett's favorite vacation "game" Getting ice out of the cooler, sucking on it a couple times, and putting it back.

There was also fishing...

Kylie caught a LOT of fish!

They were using crickets to catch all the fish.
I think we went through 150 of them!

Barrett got a hold of a fishing pole, took it right down to the water, and threw it over his shoulder, like he'd been doing it all his life!

The last night we were there we headed into Branson for a little mini-golf! Barrett got his own little club and ball. It was 18 holes of chaos after that! Nothing more fun than having a toddler on a mini-golf course with water, steep hills, caves, a plastic club and colored balls everywhere. Did I mention it was 9:00 pm...way after his bedtime! One word: exhausting!!

While on vacation (and spending a whole day with Grandpa), Barrett learned this new face! We were sitting down to dinner Sunday night after we got home, and he was cracking us up with it!

*~*~*~*~*~*~

Things are BUSY around here, finishing up several wedding orders and getting ready for my little brother's wedding on Saturday! I can't believe August 1st is just around the corner! I am still alive...just running non-stop! I'll have LOTS of pictures from the wedding weekend to share soon, and a few of the designs I've been working on too. Have a great week! {PRAY} that we don't get rain on Friday and Saturday :) It's an outdoor wedding!

Kooper is TWO

I had the pleasure of hanging out with this handsome boy and his parents on Friday evening. He just celebrated his 2nd birthday at the beginning of July. The weather was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. for a July evening in Kansas. It was so perfect for a photo session. I've really been lucking out with the weather lately (knock on wood). I went out to their home, and we had a great time exploring their acreage. I am crazy about all of the neat trees, wildflowers, barns and horses on their property. Kooper was so well behaved for a two-year old, and I just loved his little chaps. They were made by his grandpa and even had his name on the sides. Unfortunately he wanted out of them before we were able to get a good shot of his name.

Thanks {H} family for having me out to your place.
It's beautiful and your little man was wonderful!
Happy belated birthday, Kooper!

I {heart} faces:Feet

I love faces is taking entries for their weekly photo challenge!
This week's category: feet

This has been one of my favorite photography blogs for a long time, but this is the first time I've ever posted anything for the contest. I love taking {little feet} pictures. The hard part was picking only ONE of my feet photos to enter!! So I just went with one of my most recent. Sweet little newborn baby feet!

Sweet little Avery Mae:: Sneak Peek

A few favorites from my session with Avery Mae. She was 10 days old when I photographed her at her home. Her nursery was so cozy, and I was amazed to find out that grandma made all of her bedding. I had fun including her parents in some of the shots too. They are so proud of their baby girl. Thank you to the {W} family for letting me capture the beauty of your new family. I look forward to watching Miss Avery grow.
