New business logo!

So, you all know that as of August 1st, I'll be a stay-at-home mommy to my baby boy! I'm so excited that I'll be home with him everyday...but, I'm not the type of person that can just do ONE thing at a time! No, I'm crazy...I prefer to be doing FIVE things at once!! I've had a small little custom stationary business on the side for about three years. I started it with two of my best friends, Megan and Audra. I did the designing, and they were my awesome assembly peeps! We mostly focused on wedding invitations, so after I had everything designed and the papers in stock, we would have "work" days and assemble the invitations. It was a great bonding time for us, and didn't feel like work at all.

They've both gotten busy with work and babies, but I've continued to design stationary on my own. Since I won't have my full-time job in a couple months, I hope to have even more time to devote towards this passion. My dream is to slowly expand this little business into something I can run full-time after my kids are all in school....we'll see! So, in the process of further developing this business, I wanted to give it a fresh look and a catchy name!!

Although my main focus will be custom stationary, I wanted a name that didn't pigeon-hole me into only that...something that would cover invitations, business cards, logo design, interior design (what I actually have my degree in), and more!! My first choice was lm design (my initials), but it wasn't very catchy and it was hard to design a fun logo with just two letters! So....my little brother, Brandon came up with the idea to use my blog name!! I LOVED the idea, it was fresh and fun...so, off to work he went!!!

He graduates from Kansas State University in August with a BFA in Graphic Design and he's amazing!! I wasn't exactly sure how to express what I wanted...so I told him to just come up with some things. I LOVE what he did. The elephant, the colors, everything is perfect and totally what I'd pictured in my head!

Now I just need to start building a website and finishing up some other new business tasks and I'll be set! While helping me with the logo and teaching me about buying domain names, we found out there's another elephant juice design out there--how wild! AND guess what they do! SAME THING...stationary & graphic design! I'm not sure where she's out of, but her design style is totally different from mine and she doesn't have a single elephant on her site :)
